They are books of different themes that were allocated to the Municipal Library of Maganja da Costa.
The Yassin Amuji Foundation collected part of these books from various individuals who embodied the campaign.
The Foundation’s district delegate in Maganja da Costa, Cláudio Marciano said during the formal delivery of this material that with this gesture the organization intends to stimulate the taste for reading in children, adolescents and young people.
“We want to gradually contribute to the end of the lack of mastery of aspects of general culture in this social layer, because we understand that this is partly due to the lack of taste for reading_”, he added.
The president of the Municipal Council of Maganja da Costa, Virgílio Dinheiro, congratulated the initiative of the Yassin Amuji Foundation and the Portuguese Language Bibliographic Fund, and assured that the material will be well used and conserved. “One of the things we lacked in our library are diversified books and today with this support we think we will attract more readers,_” underlined the mayor.
